stuart murdoch

21.16/4/1/11
Fresh from a two hour long bath I'm beginning my fourth or fifth potentially unfulfilled blogspot.
I spent ages in the tub - lying there more for thinking than out of necessity, as usual - flicking between Facebook on my iPod and Stuart Murdoch's published diary The Celestial Cafe. Inspired by the book I decided to start a diary but realised my hopeless addiction to the Internet (hence the iPod - IN THE BATH) would keep me away from writing one, so blogspot seems a good place to start. Stuarts diary reminds me a bit of my life or how I'd like my life to pan out. I like his descriptions of coffee with old friends and art galleries, bikes and all the fun other 'indie' things he gets up to in Glasgow.
Funnily enough, today I went into Dunfermline to have some tea at my new favourite jaunt The Whistlestop with Maryam - Noors younger sister who has grown a mutual fondness with me in the past year. I met Emma and Lorna on the bus who intended to go for some piercings with me first, except I think we knew in our hearts we didn't really want any. When we got to the piercing salon the guy who does them wasn't there anyway. We found this out after having an hour long conversation with a tattooist when he casually slips into the conversation 'Well, McQueen is the one you want for piercings and he's out.' We befriended him anyway - now I know where to go if I want to make some expensive regrets.
Tea with Maryam was great and we discussed an array of things like our similar fear of water and fish, her diabetic maths teacher and general life, I suppose. For a fourteen year old Maryam is very, very smart. I suppose I admire her for that. I do love the Abdel-Raziks. We also had a tuna panini which we accidentally stole by leaving without paying, but my matured guilt got the better of me and we later went back to pay. I suppose I regret that.
After tea we went around all of the charity shops and sale shops, me boasting of some of my finds and Maryam enjoying finding some new places in Dunfermline. I find it hard to see how someone can live in a town almost all of their life and find so many buildings - or even shops - they've never seen. Adventure is the key to a lot of fun. I was chuffed with the precious stone necklace and I think we both had a very nice day. It was nice seeing Emma and Lorna too, I definitely don't surround myself in the right people enough.
Well, tomorrow is due to be hectic as I've had two weeks to revise and write lots of essays for going back to school and I've had none of it. I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed these holidays. Mabye too much?
